Welcome to our Mindfulness Mentorship Program.

As a dedicated meditator in the wisdom traditions of Theravada Buddhism and Classic Yoga for the last 20 years, and a highly experienced mindfulness teacher, I invite you to join a journey for deepening practice and profound connection.

In a time of disconnection, conflict, and power struggles around the world, marked by the lack of wise leadership, mindfulness practice can no longer be confined to hierarchical systems or as a personal improvement strategy. I fondly remember the words of the late beloved teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh: "the next Buddha may take the form of a community (sangha) practicing understanding and loving-kindness."

Inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh’s wisdom and having had the privilege to guide countless groups through mindfulness teachings, I believe in the transformative power of community. Together, we will cultivate a mindful community where each of us can touch the wonders of this precious human life in the present moment.

Our mentorship program is rooted in the ancient Dharma teaching that "to take care of each other is to take care of ourselves." In our weekly sessions, we will explore mindfulness, compassion, and embodiment practices, offering you guidance and a supportive environment. Let us walk this path together, nurturing our inner wisdom and creating a more compassionate world.

Benefits of the Mentorship Program:

The ongoing mentorship consists of weekly 75-minute sessions. Each session will have a tentative theme for the week or as part of a continued series of exploration based on natural unfolding of the group’s wisdom and interest. There will be short periods of talk, meditation practice, small and large group sharing and discussion.

JOINING PROCESS

To allow space for voices to be heard and to warm up the space, the group will be kept small initially. Mentorship is generally opened to the past students of Carmen unless you have prior meditation experience. Please enquire if there are available spots; new members may join at the beginning of each month.

Fees are based on suggested sustenance fee + Dana* (i.e. pay what you like).

*Dana is a Pali term referring to ‘giving’ as an act of generosity, which fosters a spirit of selflessness and compassion. It helps create a supportive community and cultivates a generous heart, benefiting both the giver and the receiver. Through Dana, we learn to let go of attachments and develop a deeper sense of interconnectedness with others.
