ONLINE 8-Week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Course - Oct 2024 Cohort - with Jacqueline and Carmen - Registration Closed

Dates/Times: Oct 22 (Orientation) - 7.30pm to 9.00pm - ONLINE Zoom

                        Oct 29 | Nov 5, 12, 19, 26 | Dec 3, 10, 17 - 7.00pm to 9.30pm

All-day Retreat: 7 Dec (Sat), 10am to 4pm - Hybrid (In-person in Singapore, or Online) (Check your local time here)

Venue:  Online Live Sessions via Zoom

Fees: Sliding Scale. US$ 555 (Benefactor - your generosity will support those with financial needs), US$ 475 (Standard), US$ 400 (Supported). Course fee includes all course material, guided audio home practices, and instructors’ support.

*We offer limited scholarship or reduced-fee places for each class to avoid turning away anyone with a genuine interest and motivation to participate, if the cost is the only thing preventing you from participating. Please contact us at hi@transformheartminds.org to enquire.

** A minimum of 10 participants is required to start the course. Course acceptance is based on completing the course application requirements below. Payment will only be collected upon confirmation of the course.

Steps to apply for the course:

  1. Complete the the Pre-Course Questionnaire. If you have questions before doing so, please contact us at hi@TransformHeartminds.org

  2. Make payment to confirm your place (upon notification of the course confirmation)

  3. Attend the Orientation Session scheduled on 22 October (Tues), from 7.30pm to 9.00pm (If you have applied for the course, you will automatically be included in the registration for the Orientation Session. Zoom details will be sent to you a few days before the event.)

The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an empirically-supported 8-week psycho-educational course that teaches a variety of mindfulness practices as health intervention and personal transformation. It is also the first form of secular mindfulness course brought into the health setting by Jon Kabat-Zinn, founder of the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, in the late 1970s.

ABOUT THE TRAINER

Carmen Teo, EdD, E-RYT500, is the founder of Transform Heartminds, a fully Certified MBSR Teacher and MBSR Teacher Mentor with UC San Diego’s Center Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute (MBPTI), and a Certified MSC Teacher with the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion. She has taught mindfulness and compassion to a variety of populations, including corporate executives, seniors, students and school teachers. She started her mindfulness and compassion practice in 2007 and has a regular practice, including attending annual silent retreats for more than a decade. Jacqueline Lai completed her MBSR teacher training practicum through the UC San Diego Mindfulness-Based Professional Training Institute and is now a Teacher-in-Training in the MBSR Teacher Certification Program. She is an experienced educator. She practices meditation in her daily life and regularly attends silent retreat.
